Spanish and German subsidiaries of the British FW Thorpe Group form a strategic alliance in Germany in the emergency lighting segment
Frankfurt/Main, 10 March 2026 — The Spanish emergency lighting manufacturer Zemper and the German lighting solutions provider SchahlLED Lighting have agreed on a strategic collaboration for the German market. Both companies announced the partnership on 8 March during the Light + Building 2026 trade fair in Frankfurt. Both companies are part of the publicly listed British group FW Thorpe.
“Light + Building, as the international meeting point for the lighting industry, provides the ideal opportunity for our two companies to officially announce the collaboration between ZEMPER and SchahlLED,” the management teams of both companies stated. “Together we aim to position ZEMPER’s products in the German emergency lighting market. ZEMPER has six decades of experience in the development and manufacture of emergency luminaires and has delivered projects in 50 countries with demanding technical and regulatory requirements. SchahlLED contributes a strong sales organisation and extensive expertise in turnkey solutions for large-scale projects. Together we form a strong team.”

The alliance between the Spanish and German subsidiaries forms part of the FW Thorpe Group’s market expansion strategy, focused on sustainable growth supported by strong local partners.
“To strengthen our presence in the German market, ZEMPER and SchahlLED combine European leadership in emergency lighting with deep local market knowledge. Our strategic alliance underlines the shared vision of intelligent and sustainable emergency lighting across Europe,” both companies explained.

Zemper, headquartered in Ciudad Real (Spain), was founded in 1967 and is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of emergency lighting. SchahlLED Lighting has been active in the project business for 25 years and is a full-service provider of intelligent LED lighting systems for the industrial and logistics sectors. The company is based in Unterschleißheim, near Munich. Zemper and SchahlLED joined the FW Thorpe Group in 2022 and 2023 respectively, a holding that brings together several companies with manufacturing facilities across Europe.
