Zemper presents at Light + Building 2026 a new generation of intelligent and sustainable emergency lighting

The company unveils SmartZ® Gen 2, the evolution of the Alioth® adaptive evacuation system, and new sustainable and ultra-compact luminaires designed for contemporary architecture.

Frankfurt, Germany – March 9, 2026 – Zemper, the Spanish company specialised in emergency lighting, is exhibiting at Light + Building 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building technology, taking place in Frankfurt from March 8 to 13.

During the exhibition, the company is presenting the new generation of its intelligent emergency lighting systems together with product innovations focused on sustainability and architectural design. These solutions illustrate how digitalisation and connectivity are transforming emergency lighting into an integrated technological infrastructure within smart buildings.

With these innovations, Zemper continues to drive the evolution of emergency lighting towards smarter, more connected and more sustainable systems for the buildings of the future.

Intelligent systems enhancing building safety

Among the main innovations presented by Zemper is SmartZ® Gen 2, the new generation of its wireless monitoring and control system for emergency lighting.

SmartZ® enables the automation of mandatory testing, real-time luminaire monitoring and regulatory compliance management, simplifying system management for specifiers, installers and facility managers. This new generation introduces improvements in connectivity, integration with Building Management Systems (BMS) and new digital tools for installation and maintenance.

Alongside SmartZ® Gen 2, Zemper is also presenting the evolution of Alioth®, its adaptive evacuation system designed to improve emergency management in complex buildings.

Alioth® dynamically adapts evacuation routes in real time according to building conditions during an emergency, guiding occupants along the safest available paths and improving evacuation management in critical situations.

Sustainable innovation in emergency lighting

Sustainability is also one of the key pillars of the innovations Zemper is presenting at Light + Building 2026.

The company is introducing new solutions within the emergency lighting sector, including luminaires that explore the use of natural materials — used for the first time in this type of system — opening new possibilities to improve sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of the product throughout its lifecycle.

Among the innovations are also new luminaires with extremely compact dimensions, including the smallest emergency luminaire in the sector, designed to integrate almost invisibly into the architecture without compromising safety levels or regulatory compliance.

These solutions respond to a growing demand from architects and designers seeking safety systems that are increasingly discreet, efficient and seamlessly integrated into architectural design.

The commitment to sustainability is also reflected in Zemper’s exhibition stand, designed using durable materials that can be reused in future exhibitions, reducing the environmental impact associated with exhibition stand construction.

Technology developed for people

Since its foundation in 1967, Zemper has focused its technological development on improving people’s safety in buildings.

Today, nearly 10% of its workforce is dedicated to research and development, working on solutions that continue to advance emergency lighting towards smarter, more connected and more sustainable systems aligned with the evolving requirements of modern buildings and contemporary architecture.

As buildings increasingly integrate connected technologies and sustainability criteria, emergency lighting is becoming a key element within the safety and technical infrastructure of buildings.

Professionals interested in these innovations can discover them at Light + Building 2026, Frankfurt – Hall 4.1, Stand D51.
